"ITUHKU" Is a term derived from the Pawnee language), meaning "to be a community".
ITUHKU is a community encompassing wellness initiative aimed at providing an Indigenous / First Peoples approach to holistic wellness based upon the importance of interconnectivity and integration with the totality of life.
Drawing upon Indigenous concepts of identity, this initiative empowers both individuals and communities with necessary tools for integration of cultural understandings into solutions for contemporary challenges.
We envision a future of systemic equity and accessibility in Indigenous healthcare. Our program serves as a pioneering model to prove that care designed by and for Indigenous communities is not only more effective but is the only path toward wholistic healing and intergenerational resilience. The Ituhku initiative is a strategic step toward a healthcare landscape where cultural identity is the cornerstone of wellness.
Rooted in Tradition, Thriving in innovation.
At Ituhku, we are dedicated to promoting Indigenous health and perspectives by fostering cultural knowledge within our communities. We believe that true wellness is found when we align ourselves with the wisdom of our cultural teachings, the strength and resilience of our community, and the opportunities and resources available to us. Through our initiatives, we work to cultivate healthy environments where cultural practices lead the way toward a thriving future for all, while utilizing innovative technological strategies to eliminate barriers and connect relatives for the betterment of all.
